The RESP loan is especially advantageous for:

  • Clients who transfer an RESP from a different institution to iA Financial Group
  • Clients who want to use their RESP budget to pay back high-interest rate debt but still want to contribute to the RESP

Investment loans are particularly useful for seasoned, long-term investors with a portfolio of non-registered assets.

Client advantages:
  • Increase investment growth potential through use of a leveraging strategy
  • Maximize potential returns
  • Reduce taxable income with tax-deductible loan interest
  • Benefit from competitive interest rates
  • Choose to pay back capital plus interest or interest only
